DebateLab: What makes us scared of public speaking? A session on self-knowledge and tools to speak in public with more confidence!

April 15 | 16:00–18:00 |  Room 04.0-037, RUC

Many young people have opinions they would like to share in public spaces but lack the confidence or practical skills to do so. DebateLab responds to this challenge by supporting young people in finding their voice and using it. Through workshops, practice, and a final debate event, participants learn how to structure arguments, speak with confidence, and engage constructively with others. This special edition at RUC is designed for students who want to feel more comfortable speaking up and contributing in group environments.

In this workshop, you will work with the fundamentals of communication: how you listen, respond, and express your ideas. Through practical exercises and reflection, you will explore your communication style and identify what holds you back, and what helps you move forward.

You will learn simple techniques to structure your thoughts, speak with clarity, and stay present in conversations. By participating, you gain tools you can use in class discussions, group work, presentations, and job interviews, while also improving how you listen and engage with others.
